Lough Rea House

Lough Lea House is a newly renovated and restored bungalow located in the heart of County Roscommon and in the tranquil setting of Lough Lea and is the perfect base for fishing, walking, cycling or a peaceful escape from busy everyday life.
The bungalow can sleep up to 6 people. It consists of 3 bedrooms; 2 double rooms (one en-suite) and the other room with 2 single beds.
There is a dual heating system in place, oil and solid-fuel stove. After a day's exploring, take a hot shower, relax and cosy up beside the fire in the open-plan living space, looking out onto scenic views.

There is ample parking space at the house for cars, jeeps and for several boats/trailers.

Lough Lea is a coarse fishing destination, home to Rudd, Bream, Perch, Pike and Tench, equipped with fishing stands and platforms. There is trout fishing in the nearby Scramogue River. It is also close to the longest river in Ireland, the Shannon, and the boating facilities of Carrick-on-Shannon.
Great loughs such as Kilglass Lake, Nablahy, Incha, Grange, Cloonahee and many others Strokestown and surrounds make a popular angling centre for coarse and pike fishing base surrounded by 65 lakes within a seven mile radius. In times gone by the complex of lakes were famous for rudd, bream and tench. Nowadays those fish are still present but a raft of roach has created a system of roach/bream and roach/rudd hybrids, gifting anglers with the richest sport possible. And of course, if you enjoy the lure predator angling, there is every chance of hooking great pike and perch. House Special Grange Lodge has three 19ft lake boats complete with an 8hp engine, anchors and life jackets. The hire of the boats to residents is €200 per week and are most certainly a great aid to catching fish. Local angling results are excellent and results will be improved by fishing at first light or during the evening.
