Kiltybardan Lake, Nr Ballinamore, County Leitrim

Easy access and a lakeside car park – plus plenty of fish – has made Kiltybardan very popular with anglers who prefer a short walk. It almost always provides lively sport from a good head of roach, hybrids and perch plus occasional bream. Local anglers seem to prefer a loaded waggler rather than pole fishing, though a groundbait feeder at between 30 and 40mts is more likely to get the most and largest fish from an average depth of six metres (18ft). The bank is comfortable and very accessible with room for about 16 anglers and well worth a visit.
