There are lakes of all shapes and sizes offering fishing to suit everyone from waters famous for specimen bream, ponds that are loaded with brightly coloured rudd, tons of tench, vast lakes alive with roach and hybrids – you name it and it’s here.

Castleblayney’s Lough Muckno is a long-standing attraction capable of terrific sport, whether it is pole fishing for roach or chucking a groundbait feeder 40 metres for black-backed bream. The massive lake also has a reputation for superior pike fishing with plenty taking the scales around the 25lb mark. Muckno has hosted major national and international angling competitions.

Ballybay is based on the Dromore River system that runs through several prolific lakes, namely Major, Baird’s Shore, White Lake and Corravoo.
