­To book a ferry, we need the following information

  • Your name and address and the name of each passenger
  • A mobile telephone number – plus landline if available
  • The make of vehicle and registration number (and trailer etc if applicable)
  • Your preferred ferry route and times

Your ticket must be paid in full by debit or credit card at time of booking if your sailing is less than six weeks away

You must pay a £50 deposit by debit or credit card for any other booking – you will then be asked to pay the balance six weeks before departure

There are no charges for debit or credit card payments

We no longer accept bank transfers as a means of payment

Please note that there is a £30 cancelation fee and a £20 amendment fee

These booking conditions apply to Active Ireland Limited, trading as Active Irish Breaks.
We undertake to ensure that all possible care is taken to see that you have a happy and successful holiday. The booking conditions below seek to explain as clearly as possible the responsibility undertaken between us when you make and we accept a booking.
Your holiday booking is made on the terms set out below which detail our responsibilities to each other. The person who signs the booking form or requests the reservation is responsible on behalf of everyone included in the booking. Accommodation is to be occupied only by the persons included on the booking form. Your agreement with Crossway Limited is governed by English Law.


  • Deposit and payment
    When you make a booking you must complete a booking form, accepting on behalf of all members of the party, the terms of these booking conditions and pay a non-refundable deposit of £50 per person. Some cruiser hire companies and self-catering operators require a higher deposit. We will notify you at the time of booking. The deposit is not refundable in the event of you cancelling.
    A holiday confirmation will be forwarded by us, showing all relevant details and the outstanding balance. The balance must be paid at least eight weeks before your departure date. If your holiday is booked within eight weeks of the departure date the full payment is due at the time of booking.
    If the balance is not paid in time we reserve the right to cancel your holiday, retain any deposits paid, and to apply cancellation charges as outlined.
  • Changes by You
    If you wish to alter any details involving ferry times or routes, the number of vehicles travelling, flight times, after your holiday confirmation has been issued, we will make a £15 administration charge. A change of accommodation will be treated as a cancellation.
    Administration charges are not applied when additional adult passengers are added to an inclusive holiday. Any unused parts of your inclusive travel arrangements – such as hotel or guesthouse BB vouchers – are not subject to any reimbursement.
  • Cancellation by You
    If you wish to cancel your inclusive holiday arrangements in whole or part after your booking has been confirmed, you must inform us in writing as soon as possible, and return any travel documents that have been issued. If you do cancel we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee on the following scale.
    Amount of notice you give to us before the departure date:
    More than 42 days Loss of deposit only
    29 – 42 days 30% or deposit if greater
    15 – 28 days 50%
    1 – 14 days 75%
    The above terms relate to accommodation with meals, cancelled self-catering holidays will be individually assessed. No refund will be given for cancellation on or after the departure date. Cancellation charges are expressed as % of the total holiday price excluding insurance charges. Insurance premiums are not refundable or transferable.
  • Complaints
    If you have a complaint or problem while on holiday it is essential that you bring it to the attention of the accommodation management (in person and at the time) who will then endeavour to put matters right.
    In the unlikely event of not being able to solve the problem there and then, you are welcome to telephone our Ireland office on 071 9642743 or 00353 71 9642743 using a mobile telephone. If the matter cannot be resolved locally and you wish to take the matter up with us on your return, please the member of our staff who dealt with your holiday booking and they will offer advice as to the next step. Any such complaint must be made within fourteen days of return.


  • Changes or Cancellation by Us
    It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes but we do plan arrangements many months in advance and it is possible that minor changes could occur.
    In such an event we will advise you immediately. If the change is of a major nature (eg involving a delay in departure or return of more than 12 hours, or a change of accommodation to a lesser category, or involve a totally different holiday centre), you will have the choice of the following:
    a) Accepting the change of arrangements of an equivalent or superior quality.
    b) Accepting other arrangements from us with a notified cheaper price amendment
    c) Cancelling the holiday with a full refund
    Compensation will not be payable if we are forced to cancel, or in any way change your arrangements due to war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, or any other reasons outside of our control amounting to a force majeure.
    No holidays will be cancelled by Activity Ireland Limited unless caused by non-payment or a force majeure situation.
    We act as agent for the relevant ferry companies featured in our holiday brochures. Ferry times may alter slightly from those detailed in this brochure. Any such changes will be detailed on our holiday confirmation and travel documents.
  • Our Responsibility
    We have taken care in choosing the accommodation, services and facilities for inclusion in our holiday arrangements. They have been described according to the latest information at the time of publication. We reserve the right to make changes and we will notify you of any changes at the time of booking.
    We accept responsibility for ensuring that all elements are as described in this brochure and are of a reasonable standard. We also accept responsibility for every service which we are contractually obliged to provide, irrespective of whether such services are provided by our own employees or agents, or sub-contractors or suppliers.
    However, if you or any other person included in your booking suffers as a result of the non-performance or improper performance of any service which we are contractually obliged to provide, our liability to pay compensation shall be governed by the international conventions which govern such a service.
  • Inclusive Holiday Prices
    Our prices are based on known costs at the time of compiling the current brochure. We do not expect to have to make any changes. However, we reserve the right to alter prices at any time until 30 days before departure to allow for variations in
    (a) Transportation costs, including the cost of fuel (b) increases in the general tax rates such as VAT imposed in Britain and Ireland, and (c) currency exchange rates.
    Even in these cases we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the price. Only amounts in excess of 2% will be charged. Should this amounts to more than 10% on the holiday price, you will be entitled to cancel your holiday with a full refund of all money paid except for any premium paid to us for holiday insurance or amendment fees.
    If you decide to cancel you must do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on the invoice.
  • Holiday Insurance
    It is a condition of booking that you hold personal holiday insurance to at least the value of your holiday charges. If you decline holiday insurance you must confirm in writing (at the time of booking) that each member of you party has at least the same level of cover.
    We strongly recommend that you take out our vehicle breakdown and personal holiday insurance, which includes protection against cancellation charges. Personal holiday insurance is not included in the cost of holidays. Activity Ireland Limited does not provide holiday insurance and it is your responsibility to make those arrangements.
  • Holiday Protection
    Activity Ireland Limited, trading as Activity Irish Breaks, Activity Irish Angling and Activity Irish Golf, operate a Clients Trust Account with the Bank of Ireland, to protect money paid by clients to them for holidays, in accordance with the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992. This guarantees that money belonging to our clients is protected by law. In practice, all monies paid for travel and accommodation are lodged (in trust) in a separate bank account.
