Francis McGoldrick – owner of the Angler’s Rest in Ballyconnell - was 2012’s most successful match angler in Ireland. His lengthy list of wins includes the individual crown in the World Pairs that pushed his season winning’s well past the €10,000 barrier.

The 2013 competition season gets underway on the earliest day ever - March 16 - with the three-day St Patrick's Weekend on Inniscarra Lake in Cork. The Waterways Ireland Classic, at the opposite end of the island, kicks-off in Enniskillen. It all ends on November 9 with the Champion of the Lakes around Ballinamore and Ballyconnell.
