It is a winter bolt-hole for the few local anglers who venture out and it fishes consistently well all year round, though during the summer months the marina itself can be busy with boats. Avoid weekends from April to October.
It is well sheltered from high winds and and big attraction is that you can use a waggler, pole or feeder, and catch fish. Bream and skimmers often feature and usually caught on a groundbait feeder cast towards the deeper open water. However, the marina itself is alive with small silver fish so there are always plenty of bites to be enjoyed. Like everywhere else in Ireland, you are most welcome to enjoy free access but please do bear in mind that boats have priority.
