Rockville House, Castleblayney, Monaghan


The welcoming Rockville House is a two minute walk into Castleblayney, with its many pubs, restaurant and shops, and a five minute drive on to Muckno’s top shorelines for angling. Your host – Joan Loughman – provides a hearty cooked breakfast and Rockville has two twin and two double rooms for your comfort. Angling-wise the large garage contains a line of bait fridges and there is off-road car parking. There is a TV in each bedroom.

The Fishing – Lough Muckno and the waters of Carrickmacross
Lough Muckno itself is bound to attract a lot of anglers because it offers outstanding sport and new access roads provide comfortable access without long walks. The lake cover more than 900 acres promises good catches of bream, hybrids, roach and specimen pike. A 20 minute drive will deliver you safely to the waters of Carrickmacross where variety abounds.
