The Firs SC House, Ballybay, Monaghan

 

Located less than a kilometre from Ballybay, the Firs is an ideal self-catering house for anglers wanting to tackle the great waters of Ballybay and Castleblayney.
Designed and furnished with comfort in mind, there are three bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom (2S) has its own bathroom next door; on the first floor are two ensuite bedrooms, one with 2D and the second 1D 1S. The Living room has a double bed settee if required.

You will find a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, and toaster. The sitting room has a TV and video. Free Broadband Internet Access There is ample private parking and quiet outdoor garden area to enjoy. Bed linens and towels, as well as electricity are provided at no extra charge. Central heating is on a meter at a very reasonable rate.  There is extra storage space away from the house for fishing tackle and bait fridges.

 

 

The Fishing
Lough Major, Dromore River, Baird’s Shore and Lough Muckno
This part of Monaghan, where it borders with Cavan, has a rich vein of lakes and rivers. Ballybay’s waters are famous for quality fishing with plenty of bream and terrific tench to be caught along with the usual supporting cast of roach, hybrids, pike and perch. Lough Muckno is one of the most prolific fisheries in the area and about a 15 minute drive away.
