The Fishing – Hollybank, Gulladoo and Gowna Lakes
The village is surrounded by prolific lakes such as Hollybank where the fishing in the past three years has been exceptional and included bream to 7lb. A short drive in one direction is Gulladoo with its mix of bream, roach, hybrids, pike and perch, while the other road goes to the mighty Gowna complex of lakes. Eamonn’s advice is to come armed with plenty of bait and big keepnets! The Breffni Arms is now regarded as the hub for match angling in Cavan.
