The Fishing
Lough Ree, River Inny and Lanesborough
Lough Ree is the second largest lake on the river Shannon and it contains many islands and all accessible by boat from the house. The River Inny flows into the bay directly in front of the house and this particular part of the lake is a renowned for its outstanding spring fishing for bream, roach, hybrids, tench and big perch. The River Inny provides totally different challenge but the fish are of the same high quality. For a change of scene, Lanesborough is less than an hour’s drive away but worth a trip in April and early May.
House Special
Apart from its unique private location there is an opportunity to bank fish or hire a 19ft lake boat, 6hp engine for £170 per week – the first gallon of petrol is complimentary. If nothing more, the boat is perfect for pre-baiting on several nearby islands where you can bank fish.
