You can be sure of a warm welcome from Anne and Paul Harris at Dromagowlane House. It is situated on the beautiful Beara Peninsula and set in its own grounds of about 20 acres only a few minutes from the coast and five minutes walk to the local
‘Sugar Loaf’ pub. All bedrooms are ensuite and satellite TV and DVD/CD player with a selection DVDs available free of charge. There is a complimentary tea tray, mineral water, iron and hair dryer. A full choice breakfast menu is available every morning at a time to suit you and evening dinner is available by prior arrangement. Packed lunch is also available.

The Fishing
Mostly easy rock fishing plus a mix of piers and beaches.
It is no exaggeration to say that the Beara Peninsula is one of the least explored areas of Ireland for sea angling, but its potential is now starting to be recognised.
During 2008 Dromagowlane House was honoured to be chosen to host the Sea Angler Sea Safari and for a week in June top anglers Chris Clarke, Alan Yates, Malcolm Stoate, Paul Fenech and John Wells explored and fished from local marks and caught enough fish for a series of six articles in Sea Angler magazine! Much of the sport revolves around bottom fishing for spotted, blonde and thornback ray; huss, wrasse, pollack and some specimen-size mullet.

House Special
Paul – former angling advisor to the Irish Tourist Board – has a small fishing tackle shop, provides frozen bait including FREE mackerel and can get worms to order. Tackle hire is available and beginners can have half-a-days free instruction. We have several slipways and launch sites nearby for small boat anglers and should you fancy a days charter boat fishing, well that can be arranged too. Paul takes all shore angling guests on a four-hour introductory tour of shore marks.
